Our Story
Vocational Training Centre (Girls) Larkano
The Sindh Government, Social Welfare Department, established 16 Socio-Economic Centers in different cities and tehsils of Sindh Province in 1983. These centers are in Badin, Dadu, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Korangi Karachi, New Karachi, Lyari Karachi, Shanti Nagar Karachi, Khairpur, Nawabshah (now Benazirabad), Sanghar, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Thatta, Mirpur Khas, and Larkano. In 2009, all the centers were taken over by the Sindh Technical & Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) and were renamed Vocational Training Centre (Girls) in 2010, vide notification No. STEVTA/ADMN/2196/2010 Karachi dated 31-08-2010, based on the rationalization policy. The Vocational Training Centre (Girls) Larkano commenced operations under STEVTA in 2010, offering admissions in G-III Basic Level for three trades: Dress Making & Design and NVQ Level-II Information Technology (Computer Operator). Over the years, the center has successfully produced many graduates, many of whom have become entrepreneurs and found employment in various public and private sectors.
